Ride Notice: An informal ride of about 65 miles (metric century) is being organized to be held Sunday September 23rd from the Potosi Brewery. We're going to meet at the Holiday Gardens convention center across from the Brewery in Potosi. We'd like to leave about 8am. Decorah TT
This past Sunday Max, Joe, and I headed to Decorah, Iowa for the annual Decorah Time Trials. The race consisted of a 9 mile loop of technical singletrack with 2000 some feet of climbing. The trails were in great condition with some sweet log crossings and scary fast downhills. Max set out with a mission and set the fastest time of our crew, finishing 3rd in the 19-23 age category and 7th overall despite his obligatory 3 crashes. On a sadder note, I discovered a crack in the seat tube/bottom bracket weld on my trusty 2002 Trek 6700 singletrack slayer just before the start of the race. So naturally I gave her one more good flogging at the race before I have to put her down. Rest in peace.

Thanks For Coming Out
I just wanted to say thanks again to everyone who came out and raced this weekend. I hope everyone had a good time. People like you guys are why putting on a race can be so enjoyable and you guys are why this is the second year we put on this event. We also raised some money for the UWP cycling club which helps us maintain the trails and do things that the state budget crunch wont let us do normally.
Also I would like to remind everyone about the sweet picture CDs that Mark Hirsch is put together over the weekend. Mark is a pro photographer and it shows. If you want the feeling you had while ridding the trials to continue Marks photos are one way to continue that feeling. Every time I look at them it brings back the race feeling. They are artistic and creative and not your run of the mill race shots. If you would like to purchase a weekends worth of pics for 10 dollars you can contact Mark through his website at http://www.markhirschphoto.com/ bellow are a few shots he quickly sent me for examples.
Thanks for coming out

Time Trial This Weekend!!!
Well updating this blog seemed to have taken a back seat to simply organizing and putting on a quality event. This years time trial is sure to be as much of a hit as last years. Some of the major events that have happened in regards to the TT include:
-We will have a shuttle for the dh this year it wont go all the way to the bottom but it will get close.
-We will have a pro photographer onsite pending a huge news story.
-A whole dvd of photos from the entire weekend will be available for only 10 dollars.
-Red bull should be on site again with some red bull.
-We have tons of prizes on the way again so almost everyone should get some sort of prize.
-New course features which include:
----Super cool birms on the xc
----Big double on dh
----Log bridge over big double on xc
----Log gap double on dh
----2 more sm doubles on dh
----New and improved birms on dh
Bellow are some pics from the trials that were taken this last weekend. As you can see everything is dry and in super good shape. I think times should be faster than last year because the trails are in such great shape.
